Stefan Cwik
Stefan Cwik began his studies in composition with composer/guitarist Dusan Bogdanovic at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM). He then spent a short time of study with David Garner, also at SFCM. He finished his undergraduate studies in composition at SFCM studying with David Conte
Stefan is dedicated to the collaborative process of composition. In 2009, Stefan had the privilege of collaborating with Symphony Parnassus and Stephen Paulson, principal bassoonist for the San Francisco Symphony and Faculty member at SFCM. His piece Concert Dances for Orchestra was premiered by Symphony Parnassus at Herbst Theatre in San Francisco under the direction of Stephen Paulson. In their 2010-2011 season, Symphony Parnassus premiered Stefan’s Concerto For Piano and Orchestra with pianist Scott Foglesong as the soloist and Stephen Paulson as the conductor.
Stefan had the pleasure of attending the European American Musical Alliance summer program in Paris, France. During this time he studied with French Composer Michel Merlet and American Composer/Juilliard faculty member Philip Lasser.
Stefan is a member of ASCAP American Society of Composer, Authors, and Publishers), and is Published by TrevCo publishing.
